Capt. Francis Boakye - a Ghanaian born, was educated at the Nautical institute in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Capt. Francis Boakye holds a Canadian Master Mariner Class 1 license with 28 years experience in the shipping and oil and gas industry with both practical and theory application.
This experience has allowed Capt. Francis Boakye to move from the lower levels in the industry to Port Captain/Superintendent/Country Manager for Maersk Supply Service in Equatorial Guinea and Gulf offshore company North sea, Ghana Branch.
In terms of ship management capabilities, Capt. Boakye has had extensive exposure during his tour of duty in Equatorial Guinea where he was country manager/Port Captain solely responsible for the management and operation of 4 AHTS for Maersk Supply Services, Copenhagen.
Capt. Francis Boakye was also the country representative and Port Captain for Gulf offshore North Sea ( Now Gulfmark UK) in Ghana Takoradi for two years. During this time he was in charge of two Anchor handlers and One PSV working for Kosmos Energy and Tullow Ghana.
Capt. Francis Boakye’s experience in the field as Master/Port Captain/Superintendent/Country Manager, as well as his knowledge of Ghana, will lent itself to the success of the firm.
Not only is Capt. Francis Boakye aware of the needs of the industry, but he is also very knowledgeable of the various shipping companies and the operations of oil majors ie HESS, MARATHON, EXXONMOBIL, NOBLE ENERGY, NEXEN, DEVON and the players in all the areas that need to be considered during managing & operating the offshore business and the running of support services ie AHTS, PSV’s, crew boats, standby boats/Guard vessels and bunker/shuttle Tankers.
Capt. Boakye started his maritime career as Deck Cadet with Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) of Singapore cadetship program. Sailed on various product and crude oil Tankers and later on VLCCs for Irving oil of St John’s Canada. Sailed on various shuttle Tankers around the British Island for James Fisher shipping company in Barrow in Furness, United Kingdom and also sailed on various vessels in the Asia region. He is a well experienced Tanker Chief officer before venturing into Offshore.
