QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Capt. Michael Norteye holds a Master’s Degree in International Business Administration (MBA) from Wolverhampton Business School - University of Wolverhampton. - UK .
A Singapore certified Master Mariner, Capt. Norteye is a fully certified Dynamic Positioning Master with 15 years of command experience. A certified Lead Auditor in Safety Management Systems, Capt. Norteye also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Maritime Transportation.
After serving as DP & Anchor Handling Simulator Instructor at the Emas Academy in Singapore, Capt. Michael Norteye who is a certified Industry Trainer also worked as Roving Instructor between the ships and the Emas Academy.
Having started his career, as a cadet with the National Shipping Line in Ghana; He then sailed on container ships, Dry Bulk Carrier, Car Carrier, & Passenger Ro-Ro as a junior Officer. As a senior Officer, Michael sailed on Chemical Tanker, & Multi-purpose ships, with Rooney Shipping of Australia where he gained his first Command in 1998 and later rose to become the Company Fleet Captain in 2002.
In 2004 Captain Norteye joined Vroon BV of Holland before joining Emas Offshore Pte Ltd in 2005. During his service as Master in Offshore, Capt. Norteye has been actively engaged in Towing, Tanker lifting, Anchor Handling, Pipe laying with barge, Jacket Launching, Rig Movements, Supply and cargo running, and also Turret Anchor mooring engagement in Arthit Field. Thailand.
Whiles working as a Senior Master then in Emas, Capt Norteye delivered the then world’s biggest Anchor Handler – Lewek Fulmar in 2011.
During his tour of duty, Capt. Norteye served in Abidjan fields and also in Deep Sea Offshore operations in Angola with FPSOs Dalia & Pride of Africa.
In Emas, Michael served on DSV Lewek Toucan and also led the Towage operation for the Agbami Project from Lagos in Nigeria to Okpo in South Korea, which included players like DSME & Chevron.
After 7 years with Emas Offshore, Capt. Norteye shifted to shore management positions in 2012 where he served as Operations Manager with Global Workboats, then as Senior Fleet Manager with Otto Marine Group. He later served as Group Operations Manager with Go Marine Group during the acquisition of GWB and Go Offshore.
In July 2013 Michael moved to set up Arkstar Offshore and Arkstar Ship Management for Hoe Leong Group and managed the set up for 2 years as Group General Manager.
In August 2015 Capt. Norteye rejoined Emas Offshore and was appointed the Regional Project Manager for Africa; in charge of the company’s fleet in the African Region.
Capt. Norteye has since returned to Ghana and taken up the position of Chief Operating Officer in FlatC Marine Offshore Limited; where he is also a Partner and Shareholder.
